The Caruso Department of Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery (OHNS) offers two academic programs related to the care of individuals with communication and swallowing disorders. The minor in Speech-Language and Hearing Professions is designed to introduce undergraduate students from a wide variety of majors to the field of communication sciences and disorders (i.e. speech-language pathology and audiology) and guide them in the development of interdisciplinary knowledge, which will lead to collaborative practices in health care, social services and education, as it relates to serving individuals with communication disabilities. The Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology (MS-SLP) is an engaging and innovative degree program designed to provide students with the knowledge base and clinical experiences to apply current evidence-based, ethical and collaborative practices in the field. Through dynamic academic courses and an expansive array of clinical experiences, and working within the values and expectations of the university, our graduates will be prepared to serve a diverse, urban community in a variety of interdisciplinary settings. The mission, vision, program goals and other information about the MS-SLP program can be found on the program website at keck.usc.edu/speech-language-pathology-ms-program/.
