Clinical and Experimental Therapeutics (MS)

A Master of Science in Clinical Experimental and Therapeutics (28 units) will be granted on the basis of completion of at least 24 units of formal course work, in addition to 4 units earned by either completing a master’s thesis (CXPT 594a  and CXPT 594b , both 2-unit courses based on the results of an original investigation), or by completing a non-thesis option, which entails writing a comprehensive review paper on the topic selected with the adviser. Students must choose one of these options by the end of the first year of study.

Currently, there are four required courses totaling 15 units: CXPT 609,  CXPT 610 CXPT 664  and PM 510L . The remaining 9 elective units will be completed from courses offered within the School of Pharmacy or in related disciplines outside the department, if approved by the Clinical Experimental Therapeutics Program Director. At least 75 percent of the 28 units must be at the 500 level or above. A maximum of 7 units of upper-division, 400-level courses may be applied toward the degree.
