Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering Degree


The Mork Family Department of Chemical Engineering offers a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering. Additionally, there are four possible areas of emphasis within this chemical engineering program major. These are: biological and pharmaceutical engineering (134 units); materials engineering (134 units); energy and sustainability (134 units); petroleum and subsurface engineering (134 units). An area of emphasis appears in parentheses after the primary major name on the transcript.

Emphasis in Petroleum and Subsurface Engineering


​The requirement for the Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering with an emphasis in Petroleum and Subsurface Engineering is 134 units. A cumulative grade point average of C (2.0) is required for all upper-division courses applied toward the major, regardless of the department in which the courses are taken. In addition to the common requirements, the following are required:
