Political Economy (BA)

The Bachelor of Arts in Political Economy explores the intersection of economics with politics in domestic and international contexts. It prepares students for engagement with global and regional questions that require analysis of economic and political causes and consequences and provides a useful background for a wide variety of entry positions in the public and private sectors.

Upper-Division Requirements (32 Units)
- ECON 303 Intermediate Microeconomic Theory Units: 4
- Economics Electives (12 units): Choose three Economics (ECON) courses numbered 300-499
- International Relations Electives (8 units): Choose two International Relations (IR) courses numbered 300-499
- Political Economy Electives (8 units): Choose two Political Economy in Political Science (POSC) courses numbered 300-499
At least 12 of the 28 elective units must be at the 400 level. This means that three elective courses chosen must be at the 400-level (either ECON, IR, POSC electives).
